Residencies are the mark of any good DJ, and Stu’s are as good as they come. Not only has he held down long-term residencies in Glasgow, Dubai, Australia and Spain, he’s also been an international resident DJ for, Pacha, Café Del Mar, Me by Melia and the luxury Puro beach lifestyle brand.
After moving through the ranks of his hometown Glasgow, Stu relocated to Spain in 2008, setting up residencies across the Balearics while studying music production & engineering at S.A.E. After time in Australia, where he played numerous gigs across Perth and Melbourne, he was head-hunted to launch Café Del Mar’s new DXB beach resort and started a new night life concept “What Da Funk” which stood for quality house music in the U.A.E.
He rapidly became an in-demand name in the Middle East, a versatile DJ able to straddle the line between cool and commercial with consummate ease. It wasn’t long before Pacha Ibiza Dubai came calling. One of their first acts was to sign Stu as a long term resident, where he shared the decks with industry legends like John Digweed, Paul Van Dyk, Fatboy Slim, Reboot, Simon Dunmore, Bob Sinclar and Dimitri From Paris. As that list illustrates, Stu is a hugely adept DJ, able to drop main room peak time anthems as well as craft the perfect slow-burning warm up set.
Other big gigs quickly followed, including playing to 25,000 people at the Free Spirit Beach Festival and playing at the Abu Dhabi and Monaco Grand Prix. From there, Stu moved onto become the resident DJ at Breeze Beach, Sun&, The Island Beach Club and Look Up Rooftop bar where he got to go back to his routes and flex his funk, soul and disco muscles. More recently, he’s found success in the Balearics, holding down residencies at the prestigious ME Hotel Mallorca, Puro Beach Club and Cap Falco Beach Club, as well opening cutting edge new club Monkey Mind in Port Andratx.
A renowned music producer, Stu has found success at the top of the Beatport and Traxsource charts with his Cutting Records releases, with his most recent track ‘Kickin’ In The Beat’ a big hit for many DJs. An avid mix-maker, his radio shows and podcasts have been featured on Ibiza Global Radio, Kiss FM, Virgin Radio and on Emirates Airlines, showcasing his unique blend of beats to thousands of people.
With an album’s worth of tunes submitted to some big house labels including Warrior Groove Records, Apartment 63 and Cutting Records, plus several options for club and bar residencies already on the table for the coming season, Stu continues to be a DJ in demand across the world.
