Dynamic singer with many years of experience performing with bands all over the world, from the prestigious 5-star hotels of Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Hong Kong, Macau, Tokyo, Singapore all the way to New York, L.A. and Las Vegas. She also had shows in Oslo, Cape Town, and Hamburg.
She is well known and well respected among her fellow musicians in the UAE and abroad.
Her distinctive voice and gutsy, innovative style has earned her acclaim from both fellow performers and patrons. She has enjoyed a diverse musical career in the UAE (her adopted home), the Philippines and abroad. She has performed as both a solo vocalist and lead singer for resident bands at major hotels, worked as a successful composer and commercial jingle recording artist.
Shan loves singing old school Motown music, from Marvin Gaye to Luther Vandross, Michael Jackson to Stevie Wonder hits, as well as Standard Jazz to Reggae, R&B and Contemporary music, showing her versatility as a singer/performer.
Shan moved to Abu Dhabi in 2006 to join a South African Jazz band as their lead singer at Sax Bar of Le Royal Meridian Hotel, Abu Dhabi. After completion of the 6-month contract, she moved to Dubai and started at Bahri Bar of Mina A Salam Hotel as a Duo (Singer & Keys). She completed 4 years at this venue before moving to Koubba Bar of Al Qasr Hotel as a Duo (Singer & Guitarist) where she concluded her contract in May 2017. During her time at Koubba Bar, Shan also performed for the Friday Brunch at Arboretum. She completed 11 consecutive years with the two Jumeirah International Hotels, where she enjoyed performing every night for the local fan base regulars and the in house guests that came from all over the world. As of October 2017, Shan has been working as a freelance singer in the UAE. At present she performs weekly as a soloist at Jumeirah Islands Clubhouse and also performs as a duo with the very talented Sean Lipsey at Wyndham Hotel Dubai Marina and Brunswick MOE. They are also performing for various private functions around the UAE.
Before moving to the UAE in 2006, Shan was a popular addition to the FCC Jazz Festival in Hong Kong and Puerto Galera. Shan was also the lead singer for US Band “Maximum Drive” at the Hong Kong Peninsula during the month of December and New Year’s Eve festive celebration from 2000 to 2005. As the lead singer of “Maximum Drive” they performed on the Philippines TV Show “Martin After Dark”. Shan made a name for herself in 2005 on the Philippines TV Network ABS-CBN “Born Diva” where she won the 1st Runner up title. Shan recorded several solo albums around this time and was nominated as best new singer, songwriter and best new single for the Philippines Music Awards, and was also acknowledged as one of Manila’s best lounge performers.
